100 Beste Plakate. 2014
Submission deadline: 25 January 2015
The announcement of the 100 Beste Plakate [100 Best Posters] competition, designed this year by the design duo Sensomatic, once again invites graphic designers, customers and printing houses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to submit their posters of 2014.
The competition, which was founded in 1966 in the GDR, has been organised by the Association of 100 Beste Plakate since 2001 which has been under the presidency of Götz Gramlich since 2014.
Posters which were designed and published during 2014 can be submitted online until 25 January 2015. There are three categories: posters as advertisements, posters as author graphics and posters by students. After shortlisting the online submissions, the selection committee will choose the 100 posters at the end of February to be included in the publication of the same name and which will be displayed in exhibitions in the countries taking part in the competition. For the first time, the nominated posters will be on show in the Kulturforum Potsdamer Platz in Berlin in summer 2015.
The competition, which includes the exhibitions and the book, is financed by the entry fees. These are 50 euros for submitting one poster, 90 euros for submitting up to three posters, 130 euros for up to five posters and 150 euros for up to nine posters and 200 euros for ten posters or more. A discount of 50 per cent will be granted to students and members of the association. This year’s voluntary selection committee includes Philippe Apeloig, Christof Nardin, Jiri Oplatek, Ariane Spanier and Richard van der Laken.
