Competition for Young Designers
Submission deadline: 31 March 2019
AED, an association based in Stuttgart, which is an initiative founded by architects, engineers, and designers to promote their disciplines, is looking for outstanding young designers who have developed innovative, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing designs. Five prize winners will be selected, who will receive prize money and whose concepts will be included in a travelling exhibition.
Students and graduates under the age of 28 from all over the world, and working in any discipline, may register for the competition by 31 March 2019. Taking people and society as their basis, the submitted designs should comply with economic, ecological, functional, user-friendly, and aesthetic criteria as far as possible. The sponsorship award will be given in the categories of Architecture and Engineering, Exhibition Design and Interior Design, Product Design, Communication Design and Interaction Design and carries prize money of 2,000 euros. A touring exhibition will present the five prize winners to the public and is intended to provide an up-to-date insight into the diversity of good design.
On 7 May 2019, a jury of designers and design experts will evaluate the submitted works based on the designer’s idea and how it is presented, its novelty and usability, and also the concept’s feasibility and financial viability.
The award ceremony and exhibition launch will take place at the beginning of July.
