Animago Award 2018
Submission deadline: 30 June 2018
“It’s crazy how many absolutely superlative films and visualisations are submitted by professionals and up-and-coming artists from all over the world”, says Günter Hagedorn, the jury chairman of this year’s awards.
The Animago Award has established itself as the world’s competition for 3D animations and stills, visual effects, visualisation and design since 1997. The specialist journal Digital Production has been organising the competition for over twenty years and to date it has encouraged over 23,000 artists to take part in this international prize. Last year, 33 works were nominated and a total of eleven awards were given to 3D artists from eight countries.
Works can be submitted in twelve categories this year, in which the best feature film and best VR/AR/360° categories are new. The readers of the professional journal and their social networks will choose the best feature film. Studios, film production companies, agencies, freelancers, home users, graduates and students are invited to submit their work in the corresponding category. The award for the category of best up-and-coming production is endowed with prize money of 3,000 euros awarded by Digital Production and has the submission deadline of 30 June 2018, like all the others.
The organisers assert that the motivation behind project Animago is as follows: “Animago sees itself as a supporter and presentation platform for a dynamic and strongly developing branch of industry. It links creativity and art using digital tools with a high level of technical ability and endeavours to increase the public’s awareness of this sector.”
