Art and Artificial Intelligence
Zentrum für Kunst und Medien, Karlsruhe
Artificial intelligence now permeates almost all areas of everyday life. It is no wonder then that artists are also engaging with the phenomenon of digitisation and incorporating AI into their work. AI can not only generate content, but also serve as a tool for exciting artistic experiments.
The open conference brings together representatives from a wide range of disciplines to engage in a differentiated discourse on the possibilities that intelligent technologies offer for artistic work. Using current projects in the field of machine learning as examples, artists, developers and curators will discuss the challenges and experiences in dealing with artificial intelligence, and will also examine the effects that the development of artificial intelligence has on the creative sector. The two-day programme of lectures and workshops will cover aspects such as automated methods of creativity, cognition and problem solving and will include practical experience with new technologies. The lectures will be held in English, and the workshops in German. In addition to the theoretical contributions, the conference also includes performances and video presentations by international artists.
