Design Festival Bern

3–5 Mai 2019

The third Design Festival Bern, Switzerland, is taking place again this year. Its varied range of conferences, exhibitions, lectures and concerts is intended to promote and create links within the Swiss creative scene. Designers from the fields of communication, product and interaction design have the opportunity to present their projects to the public at six different locations throughout Bern.

The aim of the Design Festival Bern is to create a platform where designers can present their work, exchange ideas and network. Visitors to the festival have the opportunity to obtain a general overview and a deeper insight into the latest themes and projects. Talks and discussions on the importance of design in the future, design thinking, prototypes, gender issues, digitisation, etc., form the main programme of the festival linked with exhibitions at the School of Design, Museum of Communication and the Kornhausforum in Bern, amongst others. Also included are concerts, music events and live performances. Tickets can be purchased for individual days and events or for the complete weekend.

The selection of themes also continues in the design of the festival’s print media. The postcards and small posters in a striking green colour, which advertise the event throughout the city, were printed by Vögeli Druck using the cradle to cradle principle. Cradle to cradle aims to manage the production process in such a way that it does not generate any waste or that any waste is returned to the cycle as a raw material.
