Complesso San Domenico Maggiore, Neapel
6 – 9 Juni 2019
Goethe remarked that once he saw Naples, he could die. In addition to Mediterranean flair, winding alleys, shady corners, cafe and calzone, as well as the worldwide cultural heritage of pizza, an exciting, contemporary design and craft culture is flourishing in the Italian city.
At the foot of Vesuvius, overlooking the gulf with the same name as the city, Naples has a long and rich handicraft tradition, a vibrant contemporary art scene and an active community of cultural institutions and collectors.
The Edit Napoli trade fair is dedicated to a new generation of designers who are at the forefront of an innovative movement and are pushing and challenging traditional production and manufacturing chains. It brings together a select group of international and independent manufacturers, producers, designers and craftspeople who represent an independent force in contemporary design, with roots in the manufacturing process. Guided by the maxim that “one eye is global, the other is local” the fair does not consciously present historical and antique designs, but instead focuses on current works with a connection to tradition and production processes.
The fair is a place where valuable business opportunities can arise for buyers, designers, architects and enthusiasts and where large networks can emerge. As the Mediterranean capital in an intercultural circle, Naples inspires its international audience with passion, individuality and extraordinary visions. Admission to all exhibitions and design discussions is free of charge and with no need for advance reservation.
