Submission deadline: 15 August 2016
In the interests of supporting new talents in the area of lamp design, offering them a platform and bringing the public closer to design and architecture, the LAMP competition is once again inviting innovative submissions. The theme this year is “cosmic”.
In the three categories of student, emerging and established, designers of all experience levels are invited to apply with their designs that must not yet have been produced on a large scale. Prototypes and finished products can be submitted, and in the case of students, they may also send in a concept or rendering. There are no creative restrictions but the pendant, wall, table and standard lamps must be intended for indoor use. In addition to the prize money, the winners can expect public recognition through the LAMP Exhibition in Vancouver in November 2016 and various media reports, and the opportunity to have their designs produced by the manufacturer, Light Resource. An internship will be offered by this company for the winner in the student category.
LAMP (Lighting Architecture Movement Project) was founded in 2013 in Canada as a group show. The first design competition took place a year later.
