Łódź Design Festival 2019
17–26 May 2019
Founded in 2007, the Łódź Design Festival is Poland’s oldest and most popular design festival. The festival serves as a source of inspiration, networking portal and presentation area for designers, architects, representatives of creative professions and all those interested in culture and design.
Since its inception, the festival has presented design in all its forms – from industrial and graphic design, architecture and craftsmanship to the creation of services and interaction. Today, the main focus is on questions, interpretations and critical discussions on current topics. One of the organisers’ main concerns, however, is to highlight the achievements of Polish design in the past. The main programme consists of a series of exhibitions presenting different perspectives on design, and an open forum where institutions, curators, designers and artists can present themselves and their projects to the public. In addition, the winners of the Make Me! competition will receive an award. The competition provides a platform for young designers and comes with a main prize of around 10,000 euros. Admission is free for seniors and children up to the age of twelve and creative, playful entertainment is also provided. Season tickets for the entire festival cost the equivalent of around twelve euros.
