Making FASHION Sense

House of Electronic Arts Basel

– 8 March 2020

The House of Electronic Arts Basel rings in the New Year with the exhibition “Making FASHION Sense” and takes a look at fashion caught between technological progress and the ongoing effort towards more sustainability.

“Making FASHION Sense” deals with the fundamental transformation of creative processes in the fashion sector through technology and developments towards sustainable production ethics. While hyperfunctional materials in sportswear can already monitor our biometric data, the exhibited artists and designers expand this view with experimental augmented reality objects that prompt us to think and inspire a new perception of our environment. The use of technology in fashion not only allows silhouettes, but also entire production systems to be positively changed. The exhibition focuses on precisely this radical transformation of fashion through technology.
