Literaturbüro at Kunsttempel, Kassel
14 – 18 January 2015
For some considerable time, graphic storytelling has crossed over the boundaries of classic comics. This discipline is being tackled for the second time in a five-day festival held at the Kassel Literaturbüro.
Biographies, reportages and storyboards for films are just some of the formats in which graphic storytelling appears these days. In order to demonstrate what is currently happening in the area of the comic and graphic novel, the Literaturbüro Nordhessen is once again staging the Grafisches Erzählen [Graphic Storytelling] under the title of Neue Wege [New Ways]. Partners in this venture are the Institute of German Studies at the University of Kassel and the Kunsthochschule Kassel. The programme will be launched with an exhibition documenting the entire creative process behind the graphic novel “Die Verwerfung” by Lukas Kummer. In addition, there will be daily readings and presentations by authors, illustrators and publicists. Finally, at the end of the festival, the Kunsttempel will be transformed into the so-called Paper Café, which in addition to serving drinks and snacks will also have fanzines, comics and art books from independent publishing houses.
Entry to all events is free of charge.
