The Exhibition Lab.3 perspectives on everyday design
2 March 2014
The design of everyday articles of daily use is easily forgotten. In this exhibition, which is currently running at the Designmuseum Denmark, the curator Laura Liv Weikop focuses experimentally on everyday objects whose design is often pushed into the background in favour of their usefulness.
As part of the Museet som oplevelsesrum research project, 25 objects have been conceptualised in three exhibition rooms for “Experiment Lab” in order to show objects of everyday design from three different perspectives. The different perceptions of the objects in their respective presentation contexts allow an interaction between visitors and exhibits. These range from Arne Jacobsen’s “Ant Chair” to Ole Jensen’s washing-up bowl to Nørgaard’s cult, striped T-shirts and are intended to optimise future exhibition design.
