The Human Scale
Directed by Andreas M. Dalsgaard
For everyone who has no plans for the holidays yet or is looking for inspiration, together with designers and authors who participated in the issues of 2014, we have selected a series of recommendations.
The movie “The Human Scale” invites the audience to look at our built and man-made cities from a different point of view. The work process and perspective of architect and urban planner Jan Gehl and his team are documented by means of seven international metropolises in which he campaigns for a more human and sustainable architecture. Based on the thesis and the title of the first movie section “First we form the cities, then they form us”, the selected projects show how small interventions can already improve the quality of life when humans and their needs are taken as the starting point.
