Wrapper’s Delight. New works by Anton Alvarez
6 March – 17 April 2014
Gallery Libby Sellers, London
The latest design objects by the Swedish-Chilean designer, Anton Alvarez, are currently on display in London’s Gallery Libby Sellers. The exhibition comprises a selection of twenty works.
Alverez successfully completed his master’s degree in design products at the Royal College of Art in London in 2012. His projects, that range between design and art, have already been exhibited around the world including at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and at Design Miami/Basel 2013.
These latest works are the results of the Thread Wrapping Machine which he designed himself. Wooden elements are made into objects by wrapping them with various different coloured threads. Such was the genesis of a simple bench as well as other abstract objects.
