Maison et Objet sees itself as a major player when it comes to interiors, architecture, and design – with its shows, events, and a digital platform called MOM (the latter offering interested parties the opportunity to find out about their favourite brands and products in a virtual showroom throughout the year). The Maison area covers furniture, accessories, lamps, and textiles – from cosy to elegant – whereas the Objet area showcases items in all shapes and sizes. The third area, Influences, is dedicated to the themes of luxury and design. In addition to a variety of events, presentations, and networking opportunities, the designer of the year will be honoured in January. This time, the Scandinavian designer Cecilie Manz will receive the title.
Paperworld introduces the latest trends in the paper industry and presents well-known brand manufacturers and newcomers from around the world. The fair is particularly impressive on account of its wide variety of products and is also a source of inspiration and a meeting point for the industry. It is the perfect place for the trade to exhibit its wares in paper, office requisites, and office supplies. Everything you might need for commercial office supplies is available in the Office area whereas Stationery presents products for private requirements. Running at the same time as Paperworld are the Creativeworld, Christmasworld, and Floradecora trade fairs at the fairground in Frankfurt/Main.
The ISPO, held in Munich from 28 to 31 January 2018, describes itself as a leading trade fair for sport and is dedicated to everything associated with the subject, ranging from winter sports and outdoor activities to issues surrounding health and fitness to trends such as urban and team sports. Once again, a focus of this year’s fair is on women in sport. Women are not merely seen as a special target group, but also viewed in their role as managers and leaders. The event’s supporting programme also offers the opportunity to meet athletes in person. In 2018, amongst the celebrities will be Bode Miller, the ski racer; Philipp Lahm, the football player; and Magdalena Neuner the biathlete. Running in parallel with the ISPO in Munich, the fair will also be held in Beijing from 24 to 27 January 2018.
