Bauhaus in Motion

Bauhaus Archiv, Museum für Gestaltung, Berlin

- 8 January 2018

The Bauhaus Archiv in Berlin is displaying the highlights of its collection in its existing buildings for the last time. The current selection is presented under the title of “Bauhaus in Motion”, the theme running throughout the exhibition in all its guises.

The topic will be reflected both in the movement studies from the preliminary course and in the results from the workshops on architecture, furniture, ceramics, metal, painting and graphics. Accompanying photographs represent the much-needed and ground-breaking geographical movements initiated by world-famous Bauhaus teachers such as Walter Gropius, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Oskar Schlemmer and László Moholy-Nagy, and their students.

An extensive supporting programme will take place alongside the exhibition. For example, on Saturday, 8 April 2017, an open workshop for children, young people and adults will take place from 11 am to 2 pm. On Sunday, 9 April 2017 from 2 pm there will be a tour of the current special exhibitions of “Bauhaus in Motion” and “Jasper Morrison. Thingness”. A detailed overview of dates for other events is available online.

Further information about opening times and daily entry fees is also online.
