Forecast Forum

31 March – 1 April 2017

Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin

Working in conjunction with the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, the Forecast Forum is offering an insight into artistic production processes in different genres including architecture, curating, dance, design, music and video art. As an international platform for groundbreaking ideas, Forecast extended the invitation to submit project ideas in the respective disciplines. From more than 450 international applications, the mentors have now selected thirty entrants which they will support in developing their concepts.

These concepts will be discussed as part of the Forecast Forum on 31 March from 6 p.m. and on 1 April from 4 p.m. and presented to the public. The event will be held in English and is free of charge for visitors. In addition, the thirty projects will be presented in detail until 30 March in the online journal.

As a finale to the Forecast Forum, each mentor will decide on one project idea whose realisation they will manage over the following six months. The prestigious jury includes the Swiss architect Philippe Rahm, the choreographer Richard Siegal, and the curator Hou Hanru. The results of this collaboration will be presented as part of the Forecast Festival on 20 and 21 October 2017 in the HKW.
