Mut zur Wut

Submission deadline: 30. April 2017

“Mut zur Wut” [Brave the Rage] is the theme of the eponymous poster competition in its eighth year, calling on international participants to portray critical, social, political or personal content using powerful and compelling motifs to express their anger.

As a touring exhibition, “Mut zur Wut” has already been shown in Heidelberg, Mannheim, Berlin, Munich, Giessen, Lucerne (Switzerland), Perugia (Italy), Oaxaca (Mexico), Kütahya (Turkey) and most recently, London. The competition regularly receives some 2,000 submissions from over 50 countries. This reach is due, not least, to an international jury that changes annually. This year, the graphic designers Uwe Loesch, Parisa Tashakori, Kai Bergmann, Erich Brechbühl and Felix Pfaeffli from Studio Feixen will select the 30 best entries. The winning entries will be shown on busy streets and squares in a series of displays over a period of time. The provocative displays are intended to encourage passers-by to question and critically engage with the content. Among others, supporters of the competition include the typography magazine Slanted.

Submissions can be uploaded digitally on the website until 30 April 2017. The number of submissions is limited to a maximum of three posters per participant. The jury will make the final selection of posters in Heidelberg on 13 and 14 May 2017.
