With the DDC AWARD 2025 WAS IST GUT (WHAT IS GOOD), the design competition of the DDC Deutscher Design Club was fundamentally reoriented: towards an understanding of design that focuses on attitude, effectiveness, and responsibility. The publication DDC AWARD 2025 WAS IST GUT – Good Design and the Courage for Transformation documents the competition, the symposium and networking event, as well as its background, criteria, and awarded works.

It brings together projects that demonstrate how design makes democracy visible, transforms cities, rethinks health, and understands sustainability not as an accessory but as a design task. Through articles, interviews, and statements, it offers a variety of different perspectives to comprehend design not only as a discipline but as a societal competence and transformative force.
