Public Voting – Vote now and help young designers get a scholarship

The "Design Campus" research and development platform of the Kunstgewerbemuseum (Museum of Decorative Arts) of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (Dresden State Art Collections) offers a series of one-week, parallel workshops led by renowned creative professionals each year during a six-week "School of Utopias."

This year, "Design Campus" is awarding scholarships for the first time for a Summer School as part of the "German Design Graduates" initiative, which will take place between mid-July and the end of August 2021. From the works submitted in 2020 and 2021, Thomas A. Geisler, director of the Kunstgewerbemuseum and initiator of the "Design Campus," together with his team, selected 15 young graduates for the shortlist of the public voting. The final projects were nominated based on their societal potential and their proximity to this year's program theme "Design & Democracy," which was curated by Amelie Klein and Vera Sacchetti. The awarded scholarships include participation in a one-week workshop, as well as room and board. Mentored by designers, architects, curators, authors, and other stakeholders, the Summer School participants will have the opportunity to hone their creativity to question, re-evaluate, and redesign the principles of democracy.

The public voting is open until April 15. Each person can cast three votes for one project each. The selected scholarship recipients will be announced online in April.
