Wilhelm Wagenfeld in Bremen

Wilhelm Wagenfeld in Bremen

The Wilhelm Wagenfeld Haus in Bremen is a true insider tip for design fans. It manages the estate of the world-renowned designer, who was also a co-founder of form. On November 27, 2021, the house will open a permanent exhibition for the first time. The works of industrial designer Wagenfeld are not presented as a chronological sequence of biographical stages, but rather as individual objects highlighted and re-contextualized in surprising ways. The title "Wilhelm Wagenfeld A to Z" already explains the exhibition's internal logic: based on the alphabetical ordering, each exhibited design is assigned a term. This creates new relationships between the objects – sometimes playful, sometimes serious, sometimes unexpected. Thus, the exhibition offers a new approach to Wagenfeld's work, while also touching on central design themes of the 20th century.
