form 210 – Architecture meets Design / Design blown up in Scale
The year is 1996. Shortly before closing, a masked man enters the Walther König bookshop in Cologne. While a crowd of people, including the press and television crews, gathers outside the shop, Michael Jackson quietly strolls through the aisles – and snatches up art, architecture, and design books. Since then, it's been clear where he gets his specialist literature. But now we want to know which bookseller you trust. Because the "form bookstore award" will be presented for the first time at the Frankfurt Book Fair. More on this starting on page 32 in the "If you ask me" section.
Our cover story is dedicated to the fusion of architecture and design into a single discipline. Oliver Herwig and DAM Director Peter Chaola Schmal in an interview report on how this came about and how the relationship between architects and designers is changing.
