Form 215 – Using the Web: Design 2.0 / Web Wonderland works!
Web 2.0 offered unprecedented opportunities for designers. On the one hand, their own design projects and drafts could be presented much more vividly and easily with animations, sound files, and films than a few years before. On the other hand, the professional multimedia presentation of products and services was highly valued by companies. Our author Florian Schmidt explored "Second Life" and, in his article, sheds light on how companies used the digital island realm for self-promotion and marketing. In the new section "Discourse" – which, not coincidentally, is reminiscent of our former section "formdiscourse" – Gesche Joost and Sandra Buchmüller delve deeper into the cover story from a design-theoretical perspective.
