Design in other countries not only provides insights into what is supposedly different and new, but also always offers a surface for reflection on one's own, certainly nationally shaped understanding of design. In the "Focus" section of form 264, we present Lithuania, the most populous of the three Baltic states with three and a half million inhabitants, whose young creative scene oscillates between tradition and new beginnings, isolation and international networking, and visible and, in Burckhardt's sense, "invisible" design.
