Life without them is almost unimaginable: machines. While we often curse them for malfunctions, they are technological extensions that allow us to cover great distances in the shortest time, give us unimaginable power, enable permanent communication, and can restore or improve our health. Nevertheless, the relationship between humans and machines is ambivalent, because every supposed progress can lead to new, unpredictable problems.
