form 280 – Boundaries
Closing refugee routes, introducing punitive tariffs, and building walls: borders are increasingly becoming argumentative stopgaps for nationalisms once thought to be overcome. On the other hand, for each of us, borders are also important points of orientation on the path to freedom, because only those who know their limits know more than their limits. In this focus, we dedicate ourselves to the setting and lifting of boundaries, as well as boundary shifting as a design-effective function.
Furthermore, in this issue, we explore image and children's books designed by designers in the Archive section, address the topic of aestheticization in and through design in the Discourse section, and introduce the Spanish studio Venida Devenida, whose founders particularly focus on analyzing hegemonic structures in design, architecture, and art in their work.
