In Germany alone, 7.8 million people live with severe disabilities. Starting from physical limitations and their improvement and overcoming through design, we address the topic of prosthetics in form 285. The term is broadly defined; after all, even a smartphone can be interpreted as a prosthesis. And didn't Sigmund Freud already state in 1930 that man tries to become a "prosthetic god"? People are getting older, and the demand for prosthetic aids, from artificial hip joints to artificially intelligent care robots, is increasing. It's high time, therefore, to inquire about what's new in the field of prosthetics. In addition, we present the material ceramic foam, explore the relationship between biotechnology and speculative design in Discourse, and examine alternative social media that experiment with new forms of digital interaction far from like buttons.
