For the first time, the form cover features a meme: a dog's face with the text "Ok, Boomer". The phrase became famous through New Zealand politician Chlöe Swarbrick, who was rudely interrupted by an older colleague during a parliamentary speech. The scene is significant: for years, the proportion of older eligible voters has been growing, while children are demonstrating in the streets for a future worth living.

In design, too, there have always been heated intergenerational clashes, and form has often been a platform for these discussions. So it's time to take a closer look at the worries and hopes, the fault lines and – last but not least – the commonalities between generations.

In craftsmanship, the passing on of experience has always played a crucial role – as has a certain openness to new things. The Offenbach bag label Tsatsas, which functions as a family project, can serve as a role model here. Photographer Elena Bulet portrays the ballroom scene in New York – a place where many find their chosen family. Designer Snizhana Chernetska and copywriter Inna Tabachenko captured what the war of aggression in Ukraine does to people of all ages in their Paper Exhibition. Designer and typographer Hagen Verleger, together with his students, asks who actually writes design history. And if intergenerational understanding ever falters, Malin Schulz, art director of "Die Zeit", has two tips: first try humor and empathy, then let them talk it out.

Further topics in the magazine include: digital cultures of remembrance and the problem of disappearing contemporary witnesses, the young fashion scene in Dakar, intergenerational objects, knowledge platforms, Italo-German ice cream cultures and fans.
