With the small-format photo book "Goethestraße 069", designer and photographer Anton Rahlwes embarks on a visual search for clues into the world of abundance. Across 44 pages, he documents a day on one of Germany's most famous luxury shopping streets. At 300 meters long, Goethestraße in Frankfurt am Main is not defined by its size, but rather by its density of expensive fashion boutiques and ostentatious cars. In delicate photographs, the photographer documents a bustling scene of diverse people, all participating in different ways in this chamber play of excess. Consuming, posing, and strolling are the disciplines in which one must shine. Not infrequently, unwanted communities of solidarity form in a less glamorous discipline: waiting.
