form 289 – Food and Design
One might think that design and food are only connected by the human tendency to judge both superficially. But food affects and connects us all. And the way it connects us can be shaped. We cannot not eat. This is often forgotten when food is so readily available that it becomes a lifestyle accessory.
In the field of tension between food and design, these new possibilities can be communicative, conceptual or visual in nature. Given the holistic relevance of food, it is not surprising that young entrepreneurs and designers are increasingly thinking about the design of human nutrition. Whether in a restaurant or at a national border: food is political.
