Kai Linke is the third designer whose exclusive design is available as a limited form Edition in our shop. The manufacturing process of his wooden objects is also featured in form 261.

Linke’s work is an expression of continuous experimentation with materials, forms, and manufacturing techniques – and the Blasted product line is no exception. It leverages the differing hardnesses within the wood grain, which emerge as a relief when the wood is sandblasted. Linke has already applied this technique in various projects and used it again for the third form Edition. The areas of the surface that were to remain intact were covered during sandblasting. Due to the typical wood grain, each of the 25 wooden objects in the Blasted F01 series is unique. 

In 2009, Linke opened his own studio after completing his product design studies at HfG Offenbach. However, his work is not limited to products; he also designs exhibitions, interiors, and objects for public spaces. He has worked for Studio Makkink and Bey, for artists such as Tobias Rehberger and Tomás Saraceno, and designs luminaires and furniture for international manufacturers. Since 2015, he has been passing on the experience gained over the years to students of the Kassel University of the Arts as a research assistant to Jakob Gebert in the field of furniture design and exhibition architecture.

The wooden objects measure 297 by 419 millimeters, are made of spruce wood, and have a hanging device on the back. The limited edition of 25 pieces is hand-signed and can be purchased for 100 Euros including VAT and shipping costs.

Since 2013, the publisher form has been releasing editions by renowned designers. The editions are limited-edition objects from the fields of graphic design, photography, and product design and are sold both through the form Shop and presented at international design events and trade fairs.
