From Today's Perspective: Discourses on the Future

From Today's Perspective: Discourses on the Future

In 2020, the HfG Offenbach am Main (University of Art and Design Offenbach am Main) celebrated its 50th anniversary as a state art academy in Hesse. On this occasion, the university's stakeholders do not want to look back at the past but rather focus on the future. The venue for this discourse is the Museum Angewandte Kunst (Museum of Applied Arts) in Frankfurt am Main with the exhibition "Aus heutiger Sicht. Diskurse über Zukunft" ("From Today's Perspective. Discourses on the Future"). The exhibition addresses, among other things, the questions: How are humans and their environment changing? How is technology changing us? And how sustainable are art and design?

Program:
The exhibition consists of three parts: In the museum space, works by students and lecturers of the university are shown. This space is extended by a digital platform, where further works are exhibited. In addition, the exhibition is supplemented by a diverse event program.
On April 23, welcoming speeches for the exhibition can be accessed on the digital project platform aussicht.space. A video tour also provides a first insight into the exhibition. From 4:20 PM, the platform also offers the opportunity to attend a digital live event: the performance "crank the disc down" by Julia Hainz and Veronika Haller. The completely digital exhibition space aussicht.space will then go online from 7:00 PM.
