Crowdfunding launch for Typohacks

Gender-sensitive language concerns us all. Typohacks is the first handbook for gender-sensitive typography for the German language ever. It was developed and designed as a passion project, primarily by designer Hannah Witte. Typohacks provides an extensive introduction to current methods of gendering and the discourse surrounding anti-discriminatory language practices and has the potential to become a foundational typographic work.

To launch this important publication, forces were combined. The author, initiator, and designer of Typohacks, Hannah Witte, and the editorial team of form magazine, Anton Rahlwes and Nina Sieverding, have teamed up to realize the book. The three share an interest in gender-sensitive language and typography and the belief that it can never be wrong to respond empathetically to human needs.
