Media partnership with Forward Festival
After a successful hybrid premiere in October 2020, the Forward Festival is entering its next round. The program promises the latest trends and developments with lectures by creatives, workshops and interactive formats from all areas of the creative industry for both on-site audiences and viewers in the livestream.
In 2021, the Forward Festivals will focus on the virtualization and post-digitalization of creativity. The question of how a digitized world – intensified by current lockdowns – affects our lives is essential in order to open our eyes to all aspects of this development, especially in the areas of design and creativity.
Where do we draw the line between the real and the fictional, how does creativity work in this rapidly changing world, how do we deal with the all-dominant online focus, and how does digital overstimulation affect the creative process?
Regarding the decision to plan Forward Festivals for 2021 despite adverse circumstances, curator and CEO Othmar Handl says: "We are firmly convinced that even in challenging times there should be no cultural and creative vacuum. Together with partners and speakers, it is very important to us that creativity is not neglected or even completely brought to a standstill." He is convinced that the creative industry and the many surrounding industries have an increased need for knowledge transfer, inspiration and exchange, especially now - after all, it has always been the mission of the festivals to serve as a platform for creatives and to promote exchange.
