Actually, we only wanted to talk to Sandra Höner zu Bentrup about cork – because the Mazda Design Team used this material in the interior of their first electric car, the MX-30. But we found her visit to the color and material studio at Mazda Motor Europe so interesting that we immediately asked her for a podcast episode on the topic of color. Sandra Höner zu Bentrup studied product design at the HfG Offenbach and, in parallel, material science at the TU Darmstadt. One of her many internships led her to the design team at Mazda Motor Europe, which is based near Frankfurt am Main. Today, Sandra works there as a Senior Colour & Material Designer. She talks to us about the connection between color and form, about trend research and innovative materials.
