The German Ecodesign Award celebrates its tenth anniversary – participate now!

"Within a decade, the German Ecodesign Award has developed into a recognized and coveted award," says Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze. The design award is the highest state award for ecological design and demonstrates how environmental and climate protection, innovations and excellent design can be combined.

In the search for ecological and aesthetically convincing design, sustainability is paramount at the German Ecodesign Award. Everyday designs and creative ideas are needed to conserve resources and the climate and to secure the quality of life for future generations. Since 2012, this award has been promoting sustainable consumption by the Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMU) and the Federal Environmental Agency (UBA) in cooperation with the International Design Center e.V.

On the occasion of the anniversary, various activities are being planned around the jury meeting in September and the award ceremony on December 6, 2021, which aim to bring the topic and the competition entries to the general public. The award-winning projects will be presented in a traveling exhibition.

Students, thought leaders, and companies of all sizes and sectors, both nationally and internationally, can apply with future-oriented concepts, services, and products until April 12. Competition entries can be submitted in categories such as Concept, Service, Product, or Young Talent.
