What do we read? What is available? Who is listed? The "library w*rks" project by designer Lisa Baumgarten invites you to explore, question, and rethink current collections of design-related resources from libraries. The aim is to collectively research, supplement, and discuss the gaps in current and past design reception.
How can you participate?
- Gain access to a (design) library that is relevant to you – legally, of course. While this project deals with design-related resources, you can expand/bend/twist the term "design" as you wish.
- If you are not affiliated with an institution, the project works with any public library, any bookstore with a design section, or even your own private book collection.
- Question your findings. Who is listed? Who is missing? Which topics are discussed?
- Share your insights. With some time and enthusiasm, participants will exchange ideas and develop a way to publish the results, presumably in August 2022.
To participate in the project, please register by April 20th at the following email address: hallo@lisabaumgarten.de
